Miami County considers stricter setbacks

Congratulations to the Miami County officials who have voted to consider changing their zoning ordinance for wind turbine development to shift the setback from residences (1000 feet) and roads (350 feet) to require 2000 feet from roads and property lines.  This improvement will more fairly regulate competing land use policy to consider the health & safety needs of all residents.  Two commissioners are expected to vote on the proposed revisions this spring.  Another Miami County commissioner is under contract with the wind developer to develop lease agreements has has had to recuse himself from any wind related votes.
